Ves Frank is a Cambodian-American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer based in Asheville. He spent time on the beaches of southern California and in the mountains of Colorado, with nomadic sojourns in South America and Southeast Asia, before making the Southern Appalachians his home. His music is a celebration of his experiences, blending eclectic genres, including folk, rock, soul, and electronica.
Ves's introduction to music was listening to the irresistibly catchy melodies of synth-pop that his mother was drawn to after immigrating to the United States. He began playing and writing music at an early age, following in the footsteps of his older brother, who Ves credits for his appreciation of blending seemingly discordant musical styles into texturally layered harmonious productions.
The idea that music is communal - a conversation to be had - is central to Ves's songwriting and performance style. His goal is to showcase the raw ability of music to connect us in a shared experience of authenticity.
